Notebook
My idea for the notebook was changed a lot. I started with a soccer theme but noticed that the cutouts would not work. I then moved to my current design of the dog with a bone. This worked much better and was a much better option.
I made this notebook with a dog silhouette and a bone outline. I wrote my name using the text tool then copy pasted the dog on the notebook. I filled in the dog and put in the bone. I put the outline of the bone as red and made the lines .0001 size so the laser could cut through.
The cutting didn't take that long and I was ready to start my next step which was cutting the holes and putting the paper inside. I cut the holes in the notebook and the paper and put the swirly plastic thing in and I was don
Water bottle
I came up with my water bottle idea because I wanted a soccer water bottle. So I decided to make a water bottle with my favorite clubs on it. So I went into illustrator and planned out my design. I decided to have a soccer ball and my two favorite teams (Liverpool and Barcelona) on the water bottle. I made each of the images large enough to cover the entire outside edge of the water bottle and I started with the laser. The bottle took about 20 minutes to engrave fully.
I started this project by making a work space that spanned the height and circumference of the bottle. I then went on the internet and got all three of my images. A soccer ball, and the club banners of my favorite teams. I then placed them in my work space and made them all vector images. the nest step was to turn them all black and then I was ready for the engraver.
I set up the rotational jig in order to engrave my water bottle. I did this by taking out cutting table and putting in the rotational jig and plugging it in. I then secured my water bottle in place and started the engraving.
